  • El índice del dólar cayó un 0,1% hasta 98,95, su punto más débil desde el 18 de mayo. 

  • Frente al yen, el billete verde cayó un 0,2% hasta 158,9. 

  • El euro subió un 0,3% hasta 1,1636 dólares,

  • La libra esterlina subió un 0,3% hasta 1,3476 dólares

  • El dólar australiano subió un 0,5% hasta 0,7162 dólares,

  • El kiwi sumó un 0,4% hasta 0,5869 dólares. 

La escasa liquidez amplificó los movimientos, con muchos mercados globales cerrados por festivos públicos.

Reacción del mercado

El petróleo lideró la acción. El crudo Brent cayó un 5,4% hasta 97,91 dólares el barril, mientras que el WTI bajó un 5,7% hasta 91,10 dólares, rompiendo ambos por debajo de la marca de los 100 dólares debido al optimismo sobre un alto el fuego. 

En las criptomonedas, el Bitcoin subió un 0,5% hasta los 76.961 dólares, mientras que el Ether se mantuvo esencialmente plano en los 2.091 dólares.

El contexto

Durante el fin de semana, Trump publicó en las redes sociales que un memorando de paz con Irán estaba "en gran parte negociado", y tanto ambas partes como los mediadores pakistaníes informaron de avances. Pero el domingo se retractó, afirmando que el bloqueo estadounidense a los barcos iraníes en el estrecho "permanecerá en pleno vigor y efecto hasta que se alcance, certifique y firme un acuerdo". Irán no hizo comentarios inmediatos.
