Il dollaro scende mentre le speranze di un accordo su Hormuz raffreddano i mercati petroliferi

L'ottimismo sui colloqui di pace spinge il greggio sotto i 100 dollari e fa salire le valute di rischio in tutta l'Asia.

Il dollaro statunitense si è indebolito su tutta la linea nella sessione asiatica di lunedì, dopo che i segnali di un potenziale accordo tra Stati Uniti e Iran per riaprire lo Stretto di Hormuz hanno spinto il petrolio nettamente al ribasso e aumentato l'appetito per gli asset più rischiosi.

  • L'indice del dollaro è sceso dello 0,1% a 98,95, il punto più basso dal 18 maggio. 

  • Contro lo yen, il biglietto verde è sceso dello 0,2% a 158,9. 

  • L'euro ha guadagnato lo 0,3% a 1,1636 dollari,

  • La sterlina è salita dello 0,3% a 1,3476 dollari

  • Il dollaro australiano è salito dello 0,5% a 0,7162 dollari,

  • Il kiwi ha aggiunto lo 0,4% a 0,5869 dollari. 

La scarsa liquidità ha amplificato i movimenti, con molti mercati globali chiusi per festività pubbliche.

Reazione del mercato

Il petrolio ha guidato l'azione. Il greggio Brent è sceso del 5,4% a 97,91 dollari al barile, mentre il WTI è sceso del 5,7% a 91,10 dollari, entrambi scendendo sotto la soglia dei 100 dollari sull'ottimismo per il cessate il fuoco. 

Nelle criptovalute, il Bitcoin è salito dello 0,5% a 76.961 dollari, mentre l'Ether è rimasto essenzialmente stabile a 2.091 dollari.

Il contesto

Durante il fine settimana, Trump ha pubblicato sui social media che un memorandum di pace con l'Iran era "ampiamente negoziato", con progressi segnalati da entrambe le parti e dai mediatori pakistani. Ma domenica ha fatto marcia indietro, affermando che il blocco statunitense sulle navi iraniane nello Stretto "rimarrà in pieno vigore e vigore fino al raggiungimento, alla certificazione e alla firma di un accordo". L'Iran non ha rilasciato commenti immediati.
