Le choc énergétique de retour alors que les violences au Moyen-Orient font grimper les prix du pétrole

De nouvelles actions militaires impliquant Israël, le Liban et l'Iran ont fortement fait grimper les prix du pétrole, ravivant les craintes d'une perturbation de l'approvisionnement mondial.

Les prix du pétrole ont bondi lundi après qu'Israël a lancé de nouvelles frappes sur Beyrouth et que des rapports ont fait état d'explosions dans plusieurs villes iraniennes. Ces développements ont affaibli les espoirs d'une fin rapide du conflit régional et ont suscité des inquiétudes concernant les approvisionnements en pétrole transitant par le détroit d'Ormuz.

Les contrats à terme sur le baril de Brent ont grimpé de $3,20, soit 3,39 %, à 96,24 dollars le baril, tandis que le brut américain a augmenté de 2,87 dollars, soit 3,17 %, à 93,41 dollars le baril à 03h33 GMT.

Ce rebond a effacé les pertes de vendredi, lorsque les marchés avaient réagi positivement aux signes d'une possible désescalade entre les États-Unis et l'Iran. Depuis mars, les prix du pétrole ont augmenté de plus de 50 % à mesure que les tensions s'intensifiaient dans la région.

Les médias locaux ont fait état d'explosions à Téhéran, Tabriz et Ispahan tôt lundi. De son côté, l'Iran a tiré des missiles sur des cibles israéliennes dimanche en réponse aux actions militaires d'Israël.

Malgré cette dernière escalade, le président américain Donald Trump a déclaré qu'un accord de paix plus large restait réalisable et aurait exhorté le Premier ministre israélien Benjamin Netanyahu à éviter de nouvelles attaques.

L'OPEC+ a également accepté d'augmenter la production de pétrole pour la quatrième fois en quatre mois. Cependant, les analystes ont indiqué que cette augmentation a peu de chances de stimuler l'offre de manière significative, car de nombreux producteurs luttent pour atteindre leurs objectifs de production en raison des perturbations continues autour du détroit d'Ormuz et des dommages causés aux infrastructures en Russie.

RÉACTION DU MARCHÉ

Les marchés de l'énergie ont mené la hausse, les prix du pétrole affichant de solides gains. La hausse des risques géopolitiques pourrait également soutenir les valeurs refuges, tandis que les marchés boursiers pourraient subir des pressions si les coûts de l'énergie continuent de grimper. Les marchés des cryptomonnaies sont restés concentrés sur le sentiment général face au risque.
