Der Gold-Bullenlauf stößt auf eine Fed-Barriere

Goldhändler sehen sich mit einem schwierigeren geldpolitischen Hintergrund konfrontiert, nachdem die Citi ihr Gold-Engagement reduzierte und dies mit einem restriktiveren Ausblick der Federal Reserve begründete. Der Schritt erfolgt vor dem Hintergrund, dass Anleger höhere US-Zinsen gegen eine starke Nachfrage der Zentralbanken und anhaltende Sorgen über Währungen und fiskalische Stabilität abwägen.

Wichtige Details

Citi hatte zuvor in Erwartung einer taubenhaften Fed und der Ankündigung von Rückkäufen von US-Staatsanleihen Long-Positionen in Gold aufgebaut. Nach dem Jackson-Hole-Symposium stellte die Bank jedoch fest, dass die Märkte eine straffere Fed-Politik einpreisten.

Der Ökonom von Citi erwartet nun eine Zinserhöhung, wobei die US-Zinsen als Haupttreiber für den Goldpreis identifiziert werden.

China bleibt eine wichtige Stütze. Die People’s Bank of China kaufte im August 650.000 Feinunzen, ihr größter monatlicher Kauf seit Ende 2023 und der 22. Monat in Folge, in dem Käufe getätigt wurden.

Auch die Nachfrage nach Gold-ETFs hält sich stabil. In den letzten zwei Monaten flossen rund 7 Milliarden Dollar in GLD, der stärkste Zufluss seit November 2025.

Warum es wichtig ist

Höhere Zinsen können den Dollar stärken und die Realrenditen anheben, was Gold weniger attraktiv macht. Dennoch bieten anhaltende Zentralbankkäufe und Sorgen der Anleger über Währungen weiterhin eine Untergrenze.

Jeff Currie sieht Rückkäufe von Staatsanleihen langfristig als das „ultimative Kaufsignal“ für Gold.

Händler werden sich auf Fed-Signale, die US-Inflation und die Politik des Finanzministeriums konzentrieren. Eine weitere hawkishe Verschiebung könnte Gold unter Druck setzen, während erneute Erwartungen bezüglich einer Zinssenkung den Aufwärtstrend wiederbeleben könnten.
