Der US-Dollar schwächte sich im asiatischen Handel am Montag auf breiter Front ab, nachdem Signale über ein potenzielles Abkommen zwischen den USA und dem Iran zur Wiederöffnung der Straße von Hormus den Ölpreis drastisch nach unten drückten und den Appetit auf risikoreichere Anlagen weckten.

Was ist passiert

  • Der Dollar-Index fiel um 0,1 % auf 98,95 – der tiefste Stand seit dem 18. Mai. 

  • Gegenüber dem Yen fiel der Greenback um 0,2 % auf 158,9. 

  • Der Euro legte um 0,3 % auf 1,1636 $ zu,

  • Das Pfund Sterling stieg um 0,3 % auf 1,3476 $

  • Der australische Dollar kletterte um 0,5 % auf 0,7162 $

  • Der Kiwi legte um 0,4 % auf 0,5869 $ zu. 

Eine dünne Liquidität verstärkte die Bewegungen, da viele globale Märkte wegen Feiertagen geschlossen waren.

Marktreaktion

Öl war der Haupttreiber. Brent-Rohöl fiel um 5,4 % auf 97,91 $ pro Barrel, während WTI um 5,7 % auf 91,10 $ fiel – beide brachen aufgrund des Optimismus über einen Waffenstillstand unter die 100-Dollar-Marke. 

Im Kryptobereich legte Bitcoin um 0,5 % auf 76.961 $ zu, während Ether mit 2.091 $ nahezu unverändert blieb.

Die Vorgeschichte

Am Wochenende postete Trump in den sozialen Medien, dass ein Friedensmemorandum mit dem Iran „weitgehend ausgehandelt“ sei, wobei beide Seiten und pakistanische Vermittler über Fortschritte berichteten. Doch bis Sonntag ruderte er zurück und erklärte, dass die US-Blockade gegen iranische Schiffe in der Meerenge „in vollem Umfang und in Kraft bleiben wird, bis eine Vereinbarung erzielt, zertifiziert und unterzeichnet ist“. Der Iran gab zunächst keinen Kommentar ab.
